Cancelation - Weekly Practice and 3/21 Saturday retreat

Due to the COVID-19 situation, First Unitarian Church of Wilmington are cancelling worship on 3/15 and having a remote live stream worship. Although the building is not yet closed, the church may need to shut the building down on short notice. In light of Church's decision, Open heart meditation group has decided to cancel the Wednesday weekly practice (starting 3/18) and the 3/21 Saturday retreat to prevent transmission risk for COVID19.

Special Notification for Weekly Wednesday Meditation Practice

We are in the midst of a worldwide epidemic of coronavirus that causes symptoms similar to flu but is also potentially lethal, with a mortality rate 3.4% per WHO compared to 0.1% from Influenza.
In an effort to minimize the spread of this infection, please refrain from attending sangha if you have:

flu symptoms (Fever, cough, and difficulty breathing)
been in contact with anyone diagnosed with coronavirus
traveled to a country or places impacted by the virus in the past 14 days. (including but not limited to China, Iran, Italy, S. Korea, etc.)

Following are suggested precautions when you come to Wednesday's practice:

Use of alcohol hand rub on entering the meeting room either from outside or from the bathroom
Seating: Refrain from using mats and cushions unless your own. Use chairs provided by church. Cover the upholstered part of chairs with something disposable like paper towel or bring a cover of your own. Wipe down chairs before and after meetings with alcohol spray and paper towels.
Refrain from handshaking. Try elbow or foot bump instead! (Also avoid touching your face)
