The Power of Forgiveness by Gelong Thubten (click to view). Gelong Thubten is a Buddhist monk, meditation trainer and author. In 1993, at the age of 21, he was ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist monk at Samye Ling Monastery in Scotland. He has spent over six years in intensive meditation retreats, the longest of which was 4 years. It's an appropriate topic as we try to heal in our own lives and as a nation. Thubten radiates kindness and compassion; it feels healing just to listen to him.

When we really listen to another, they sense a space where they can speak authentically. Tara explores the three steps of deep listening and how this deliberate practice can help us connect more intimately with others as we learn to listen with 'ears of the heart.' ![]() The group will view an eighteen minutes TED Talk video "How Mindfulness changes the emotional life of our brains - with Richards Davidson". Richard J. Davidson is professor of psychology and psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin–Madison as well as founder and chair of the Center for Healthy Minds. We will view a 25 minutes video "The Compassion Boot Camp" by Dan Harris ( 10% Happier Author) and Spring Washam (mindfulness teacher, author). (click to view the video)
