The Venerable Acharya Zasep Tulku Rinpoche, a highly realized and internationally respected teacher of Gelugpa Buddhism, was born in Tibet in the province of Kham in 1948. He is currently spiritual head for Gaden for the West, with meditation centres in Canada, U.S. and Australia. ![]() We will view a 27 minutes video “A Cloud Never Dies” Biographical documentary of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh (Click to view) Thích Nhất Hạnh (October 11, 1926 – January 22, 2022) was a Vietnamese Thiền Buddhist monk, peace activist, prolific author, poet, teacher, and founder of the Plum Village Tradition, historically recognized as the main inspiration for engaged Buddhism. Known as the "father of mindfulness", Nhất Hạnh was a major influence on Western practices of Buddhism. ![]() We will first view a 15 minutes TEDx talk "Happiness is all in your mind" by Gen Kelsang Nyema (Click to view). Gen Kelsang Nyema is an American Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Ganden Kadampa Buddhist Center in Columbia, SC. Jack Kornfield trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma and India, first as a student of the Thai forest master Ajahn Chah and Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma. He has taught meditation worldwide since 1974. Since receiving authorization to teach the Dharma from peace activist and Zen meditation master Thích Nhất Hạnh in 2008, she has become one of the most senior English-speaking monastic teachers in the Thiền Buddhist Plum Village Tradition founded by Thích Nhất Hạnh.
