He's an advisor to the Executive Mind Leadership Institute at the Peter F. Drucker School of Management. He has done consulting work with Fortune 500 companies around the world. He is currently spiritual head for Gaden for the West, with meditation centres in Canada, U.S. and Australia. ![]() We will view a 27 minutes video “A Cloud Never Dies” Biographical documentary of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh (Click to view) Thích Nhất Hạnh (October 11, 1926 – January 22, 2022) was a Vietnamese Thiền Buddhist monk, peace activist, prolific author, poet, teacher, and founder of the Plum Village Tradition, historically recognized as the main inspiration for engaged Buddhism. Known as the "father of mindfulness", Nhất Hạnh was a major influence on Western practices of Buddhism. ![]() We will first view a 15 minutes TEDx talk "Happiness is all in your mind" by Gen Kelsang Nyema (Click to view). Gen Kelsang Nyema is an American Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Ganden Kadampa Buddhist Center in Columbia, SC. Jack Kornfield trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma and India, first as a student of the Thai forest master Ajahn Chah and Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma. He co-founded the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, with Sharon Salzberg and Joseph Goldstein, and Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, California. |
